LT80 Oil Pump Problems
Hey I have a 1993 LT80 and today I was ridin it and all of a sudden it siezed up (not all the way) but it is very tough to turn over, I checked the oil line to the carb while turning it over and nothing came out. I took the oil pump off and the shaft that turns it inside isnt turning. I think the worm gear shaft that comes out horizontally from the engine is snapped off, can anyone tell me how much this is going to cost to fix?, Do i have to pull the side engine cover off? thanks

Def bore and piston kit. Turn the motor over once apart to see how the crank rolls (bearings).Check for any thumping, grinding, clicking, excessive side to to dide play in the rod,etc means.
Yes you need to remove the side cover. You must remove the lil black piece on the end of the crankshaft. It drives the pump.
You need to service the clutchs while in there.
Put a toothpick in the line and get a good synthetic oil and mix 32:1
Use Zuki parts. :0

If you pull that black thing off the crankshaft, you will get no oil
As they said, I would strongly suggest you DC that oil injection.
That will save you from going through this again.
I've done it on both of mine, never had a problem......
Good Luck, let us know how things are going

LT80 Oil Pump Problems
hey, I see what your sayin about bypassing it and going premix, Its good for short rides and Racing Im sure, but Up in AK I ride long trails, and its nice to have a oil injection instead of the hassle of mixing when you are refueling at a gas station along the trail. I could bypass it but i really dont want to because then i have to carry extra oil with me, so im just wondering on how much oil is supposed to be coming out of the line? im getting about a drop of oil every second at idle and more throttle i get about 2 drops a second, is this normal or should i be getting more oil? thanks
