Default Chinese Automatic Tranny VS. Semi-Auto

Anyone have any information on the Tranny's in the Chinese quads? I'm just wondering which one is more durable. I hear the stories about the Automatics with reverse loosing the reverse gear. I didn't know if the semi-autos were less or more problems.

Give me a heads up.

Thanks

110cc and 125cc. I'm in the process of purchasing one of each and wanted to check things out.

you won't have a problem with eaither transmissions, if they are for kids under the age of 10 and never rode atv's before the automatics are the better choice, this way they can just ride and have fun without worrying to learn to shift up and down, if the kids are over the age of 10 , the manual transmission i believe will work better. at this age they can learn to shift gears. look at Spam wordSpam word Spam wordSpam word Spam wordSpam word Spam wordSpam word Spam wordSpam word Spam wordSpam word Spam wordSpam word Spam wordSpam word Spam wordSpam word Spam wordSpam word Spam wordSpam word Spam wordSpam word Spam wordSpam word Spam wordSpam word Spam wordSpam word

Bill you have me confused... You say not to buy Chinese then do buy Chinese..... but only from certain people, then you call them junk, then you don't.... now you tell someone to go to budget atvs to buy a machine where they will have no help after sale & never get parts from??? I am confused with your opinion.... everytime I read a post from you you change your mind, I don't really care where you stand on Chinese atvs & you seem to help alot of people which is great, but why tell this guy to go wicked rocket best price atvs sunl etc etc.... with a new name?

my opinio has been and hasn't changed any, that chinese quads are junk POS. period. but their's always an excection to the rules and here's mine and always have been , i know people will buy this crap no matter what opinion i have because of the price. my rules for buying chinese crap is this, don't buy one for an adult, ok for kids ages 4-12 year old begginers, don't spent more than you can afford to flush down the toilet, but not more than $700, never finance a chinese quad no matter what, payments will out last the atv. be prepare to spent time working on them,

If you are going for the cheapest price, then you will get what you pay for.... I know they LOOK the same but that is only the plastic fenders & tires, the rest of the machine is what maks it a good quad or not... The cheapest atvs you see from Budget atvs, best price, right way atv etc etc come from factories in China & parts of China that do not care about anything except price....Alot of these places is where SunL buys their garbage from, this is where people have problems with their machines, they buy one for say $500 & have problems with it, then they say don't buy Chinese atvs as they are crap & garbage because they can't get any help after the sale or get any parts for their machine... if people would look at the cost of the machine & wonder if its to good to be true, it most likely is...... Do research on the company to see how long they have been around & if there is any complaints agaisnt them & then pay a little more with a reputable deler & get a better machine or at the very least get a dealer that will stand up behind their product & make it a good quad if there is any problems.

I recently went ahead and purchased two quads, after a ton of research and test driving a chinese 250 I bought a 99 Polaris Scrambler 500 4x4 for less than the cost of a Jetmoto 250 and a Yamaha Blaster (which will smoke the chinese 250's) for $850. Both are in good to great shape and I feel like we got alot more for our money.
