I'm from New Zealand, we also have allot of these chinese bikes and ATVs here. I have a 110cc pit bike a 200cc street legal trail bike and an 250cc ATV. I have been diong allot of research on parts and this is what I've found:-

Engines

The model number ie 163fml or 167fmm or 253fmm denotes the number of pistons and the bore ie a 163fml is a one cylinder engine with a bore of 63mm a 253fmm is a two cylinder engine with a 53mm bore.

Engines are standardised ie lifan, shineray, loncin and a host of others all make these engines exactly the same if it is a 167fmm it doesn't matter what manufacturer makes it the parts and gaskets are interchangeable.

allot of these vertical engines have the same mounting points 163fml, 167fmm 171fmm 253fmm all have the same mounting points so you can use these engines in any 150cc-250cc atv or bike.

Similarly you can use any 90-138cc engine in any bike or atv.

Parts

All parts are standardised for instance all brakes have their holes the same distance apart, the brakes on my pit bike, ATV and trail bike are all interchangeable even though they are different makes. And this is the same with all the parts including electrical, starters everything. Clutch cables are not particular to vehicles they just vary in length ie what length would you like sir.

Its a completely different way of doing things than we are used to. What it means is that a. these parts will be readily available for years to come. b. They are damn cheap because of the competition.

Your vbike 250 v4 is the same as new zealands Hunter 250 (trade.co.nz) and motoworks warrior (ebay.com.au) and you can buy any part for them cheaply.

You can look under trademe.co.nz look up motorcycle parts then find a chinese part then look up sellers listing and you will see what i mean whole brake systems fit any pit bike atv or trail bike $30 complete etc.

Have you ever heard of the Chinese brand name Masstraxion? I am looking for a service manual for a 250cc, water cooled, automatic transmission w/reverse. Any ideas?

 

In the spirit of Fisherboy3's observation that most chinese engine are interchangeable, and to try and help out tjrlang, here is a link to a service manual for a 250cc engine used on a CFMOTO chinese scooter. It is 250cc, has an automatic transmission, and is liquid cooled. I didn't check to see if it had a reverse, but even if it doesn't I'm hoping the differences are only the final output section and are minor. My quad has a 150cc GY6 engine, and the numerous GY6 scooter service manuals have been very helpful to me.

Since the link is into a forum specializing in buggies and go carts you can see that this engine is used in more than just scooters. I'm hoping that Masstraxion quads use the same engine.
