suzuki ltz-50 clutch help

I just recently got my cousin's 2006 ltz-50 running. I re-restricted the motor by removing the baffle, removing the washer in the clutch, and installing an aftermarket CDI box.

Before you get lost in my literature, my main question is how to remove the clutch shoes from the trans shaft...OK continue.

The bike ran strong for about two rides, and now it feels as though the clutch is slipping. I started the motor with the clutch cover off to see what exactly was going on. The crank pulley / sheave is turning the belt fine, but the belt is slipping bad on the rear tranny pulley / sheave. The rear pulley / sheave has some rust.

I have a new belt being delivered. I see the 14mm nut to remove the outer clutch hub on the trans shaft, but what is needed to remove the clutch shoes? The microfiche sort of shows a larger, thin nut, but I don't recall seeing that. Is a wheel puller needed to remove the clutch shoes?

Thanks for your help.

Welcome to the forums. :)
When you remove the rear clutch nut (14mm) the drum will come off. Then the complete shoe/sheave assembly comes off as 1 unit.
If for some reason you need to remove the shoes from the sheave, that's when you take the big nut off (which should be left hand thread).

Randyb, this thread is about a LTZ-50 which is a 4 stroke motor and the clutchs are very different. It appears that you think they are the same.
As far as your question, missing something? Something wore?
Have you looked at a fiche to help?
Wish I could help you more..:(
