Default 2010 Polaris Outlaw 50

just bought one of these 2nd hand for my son

Can anyone tell me the part # for the throttle limiting screw, from the schematics it looks like 0451788 but it's hard to tell and should also be a jam nut there right? Both are missing on the one I bought

Also, is there an aftermarket kill switch/tether for the rear of the quad so I can run behind him and pull it if needed? I have seen the ones for the 2 strokes but not the 4 stroke

Thanks!

It's just a 5mm screw that you can get at a hardware store along with a lock nut. After market tethers are available everywhere that you could tie into the two wires on the front one,but if your kid is like mine was he didn't want me walking behind him! I just cut the little rope, then just defeated the tether switch a little later on.He had an 84 LT50 when he was 5.. http://www.ebay.com/itm/NOS-Polaris-Phillips-5mm-Bolt-2004-2012-Predator-Outlaw-Sportsman-0451788-Qty-5-/361235692007?hash=item541b5339e7&vxp=mtr http://www.ebay.com/itm/2002-2005-SUZUKI-LT-A50-LTA50-LT-50-ATV-REAR-TETHER-KILL-SWITCH-37820-04200-NEW-/370516837425?hash=item5644864431&vxp=mtr

Thanks for the help, my son is 3 1/2 so I have to run behind until he learns to stay on the trail and pay 100% attention to where he is going.

I've seen the specific kill switch part for the 2-stroke 50's, wasn't sure if the frame mount was missing on the 4 strokes or something since the compatibility wasn't listed with later models, but i will give it a try (It's still at my brother in law's house I haven't been able to take a look)

Iv had my little girl on a machine since she was 2.. Never ran a tether. First few trips someone rode on the back of the machine with her(poor little machine), Then we would ride infont of her making it a game of follow the leader. No we have helmet communications that works great you can hear when the child becomes scared or is having issues and you can also give them directions. Makes them feel more secure when they can hear your voice when riding. She now will be 5 in a few months and rides as good or better than most adults i know.

I hear ya, but this is a narrow wooded trail, I guess if I can govern it down to 5mph it's ok but when he was on my brother in law's 2 stroke it only came down to 7-10mph and I didn't want him hitting a tree while he was admiring the scenery
