Default LT80 owners - don't forget about the clutch

Just thought I'd post...neighbor's LT80 was reving to the moon and only going 10-15mph...neighbor's son wanted me to install a pipe to make it go faster...this is obviously the reason for poor performance...just a reminder to service these little buggers as they are present in most mini's...

Great post!
I see this alot. The rollers cannot travel because of that rock hard grease. And for viewers, the pile of yuck in pic 2 is that hard grease that has been scraped out of the variator.
This usually results in ruined rollers damaging the variator and roller plate.

Jack...this was the one I thought I'd need to replace...had hell of a time getting screws out and then, due to rock hard grease, it didn't want to come apart! Rollers are almost down to metal...all of them! Will be a different machine once sorted out...

Had to post this as I know many neglect this critical component!!!!!

Sent Jack a PM...he's been racing these things forever and has an inexpensive clutch mod...perhaps he can tune it or prove suggestions for your application...

Wink PM

Dirtdevil101, how do you send PM's? I'd like to get this taken care of before presidents day. Even if I have to send the engine to him. Been reading on power for these, it sounds like he's the best.
