LED bulb replacement for Sportsman 90?

Hi,

I need 2 new bulbs for a 2007 sportsman 90, I was wondering if there is an LED option?

Thanks,
Joe

just look for the led equivalent for what you took out

That is the problem - the bulbs were missing. :) So I cannot do a physical comparison. Here is a picture of it:

Found out that the bulbs run on AC also:

"The daytime running lights are powered by an AC current from the Generator/Stator.

Using a Volt Ohm Meter, measure the AC voltage between the yellow red (YE/RD) and black (BK) wires. Voltage above 5 VAC should be present when unit is running."

These are 5 or 10 watt watt standard bulbs, just barely light up the area in front of the atv. Granted the later 4 stroke models have a larger 50 watt output than the 32 watt system on the older model 2 strokes, but people have had a hard time to find anything that could replace them. Had a lot of folks that came into the shop that just got a small led light bar that worked better than the headlights. 7" LED Light Bar | Polaris ATV Or possible to replace the existing lights.https://www.amazon.com/Ourbest-offro...+bars+for+atvs

Thanks for the info. Th polaris is $$$. Was thinking something like this https://www.amazon.com/MICTUNING-SR-...D8AQBE780YB4R2

Maybe have this on a switch so that the standard lights are on when the switch is off and when you turn the switch on, the led bar turns on and the standard turns off. Sort of a High/low beam setup. That way both are not on at the same time. Oh - and mine is a 4 stroke model...

Pretty sure LEDs will blow if faced with reversed polarity, which you get in AC systems. There are LEDs for AC, but they have double the cells, one lot works when the feed is + - the other when the feed is - +. They are also voltage sensitive.

I was thinking of running a + wire from the battery with an inline fuse holder to a toggle switch then to a led light. Ground the negative back to the battery. Only concern would be is to make sure the switch is off when the quad is not running. using this type of light.

If you take the live lead for the lights from the start button circuit, it will only be live with ignition on, you just have to ensure it doesn't overload the start circuit fuse.

They aren't worth trying to find LED's for them. They wont make any difference. If you are actually trying to make it so you can see at night just get a 6" light bar off of amazon. 6 bucks fo the light. Then just order a harness too. Easy.
