Yes, Everything on the left handlebar is normal and that brake needs to be pressed to fire. The right handlebar is what seems out of the normal based on the wiring diagram. Almost seems like they have used a different year throttle assembly and brake assembly on the right side. The normal electronic throttle control switch is just wired together and the brake handle pigtail is hanging. In the wiring diagram it didn't appear that this year had that brake handle pigtail.

Now to get into the carb for a cleaning. I got an education today-you were a part of that- Thanks.

Some people can just butcher machines wiring by passing switches,etc just to try to save a few bucks. At least the carb is normally the easy part. Several videos on these. This video is on one of the earlier models with the electric choke. Yours has the manual choke,but the rest of the carb is the same.
