LT 50 4 stroke available mods?
 

I've been researching on what you can do to pep up this slug. I know the top end needs a rebuild. There is no available over size piston. So I'm forced to do a new cylinder and stock piston. What is the max amount you can shave off the head? Or can you use silicone in place off base gasket?
I seen other tricks too like the cdi, punching out the muffler, the clutch rollers and removing the clutch limiter.
A member posted some other mods like tire sizes, for some reason it's now missing.

This was asked recently (piston size). We need to find out if it is a nikasil'd cylinder.
The mods you mention would be for a 2 stroke (shaved head and base gasket).
I think the thread you mention, referred to CT Racing. I think he sells a kit.
Could the reason you think it needs a "top end" be a valve adjustment prob? It seems that the 4 stroke fella's start there.
All said and done it prolly won't be the machine you want anyways. :( :( :(

It is a cast cylinder. I already checked. I did the compression test on it 3 years ago for a friend of mine and informed him it needed a top end. He left it and now I'm buying it for my kids today. It's in really nice condition and I'm getting it for $400.
I know I need to pep it up.
