Right now I have a heavily built 400EX which I think I'm selling. How does the c-dale stack up with other quads in the dunes. I ride only in the dunes so I need a good dune quad. Dragraces?

I forget where I heard this (I think it was on here) but their was a C-Dale running at the dunes and it had the stock tires and it was stock. This guy that had a Raptor (with paddle tires) lost to the C-Dale in the dunes. This came from a Raptor owner.

The quad is great in the dunes. A set of Sand Skates and it really hooks up. Almost to good. The front end becomes light almost to easy, you have to pay attention when hillclimbing. The only complaint is the gap between 4th & 5th when pulling long fast climbs, it won't always pull 5th because of the gap. Sand calls for power and light weight, it has both.

Ldj, I have to agree with GAR. I just got back from Oregon with riders that had Banchees and Raptors. They all had to ride it and couldn't believe how nice a ride the cdale was. I'm a ex-zilla rider and the front end will come up. Also the width is better thaan Raptor but not as good as the zilla.

I am an avid dune rider and very interested in this topic. I like what I have heard, are there any down sides to this quad in the dunes?
Thanks Bat |
Hey Madcow!
I looked up the pictures from the demonstration rides. I noticed that the cdales were running sandskates and stock tires up front. Was the cdale very twitchy? My cdale has razorbacks up front and sandskates and the cdale really wants to turn. I ahve some old haulers on the rear and I thought about putting them on to slow the twitchy front end. I also noticed that the cdale could have a 2" longer swingarm so you could hill shoot without the front end coming up as easy. |
One of my buds ran his Cannibal up the face of a 150-foot sand cliff on the beach this weekend. We also made it with a Raptor.
The Cannibal could probably use some paddle tires for full-time dune riding, but it performed rather well with the stock tires, considering the cliff was nearly vertical for the last few feet. |
