Well,
I hadn't started my Speed in a few days, tried before I did my fuel filter, it cranked, started to fire a few times then not again. I figured the battery was drained some from trying to start it, so I charged it on a trickle charger. I replaced my fuel filter, then tried to start it again; nothing. It cranks strong, but won't even try to fire off. Any ideas? I am leaning toward a new plug, the fuse is fine....JIM

Rod says- get a Z400, problem solved, or a new plug. Whichever one you can afford

Same thing happened to me. It turned out i wasnt getting any fuel. I pulled the plug and it wasnt wet. We sprayed ether through the air box and it popped. Then it started right up. The injectors were getting fuel but not spraying out. It was because I didnt connect the fuel line to the gas tank and sucked air.

Tell Rod that a spark plug will be easier to find! MX, thanks for your info. I hooked the fuel line back up to the rear of the tank, can air get into the line while you are changing out the fuel filter? I wouldn't think so, but who knows.........JIM

Sounds like the same thing with mine. Found out i needed a new cellenoid? no clue how it got burnt out so quick after a day of riding but now it works fine.

Okay,
Speed is running once again. Here is what I did. I figured the plug was fouled due to the fact that the battery was too weak to fire it off. This was correct, when I pulled the plug out; the thing was hideously fouled. I put in a CR8EK and tossed the CR10EK in the trash. I picked up the new fuel tank from the dealer and installed it too. So, moral of the story, weak batter caused fouled plug.....JIM

The derbyking is upset because I joined in on a thread he posted about how a Raptor leaves a CAnnondale in the dust after 2nd gear....it's true, his Yamaha/Cannondale dealer said so! JIM
