I posted about this a couple of days ago... Thought I had it fixed, I thought wrong. I put a brand new battery in my new Cannibal (which I just bought Saturday), rode it approx. 3 miles and it died. The batt. was almost dead. It was completely charged when I took off. It almost acts like a short, because the battery emits sulfur fumes when the key is on. Sometimes the pump will come on and sometimes it will run really slow. any ideas? I would really love to fix this myself as my dealer is not very knowledgable, nor very close to me, nor do I have a drivers license (dui).

There are many possible problems.First read the bulltins put out by cannondale on the problem. DO everything, just because it looks tight, doesn't mean it is. It sounds like you have a major short... Check by the stator.. Good luck and right back what fixes it.

Hey Blackbird. I had the same problem. The mechanic at my shop told me it was
the Rectifyer regulator. Appearently if that goes bad it wont hold the charge. Its still in the shop getting that fixed and then ill see if thats the fix for our problem. |
I gave up trying to fix it myself. My buddy got one the same day as me, and his won't run either. We are going to take them to the dealer tomorrow (which sucks), they don't seem to know sh*t about them. I think I've learned more off of this forum than they know. Maybe they can call Cannondale and get it figured out.
