Here's a good one
 

I recently circulated a petition to open a logging road already heavily used by trucks and bulldozers. A landower adjoining some property I own readily signed the petition, and told me that if the county forestry committee would not open that logging road, I could access the main trail by riding across his land.

The committee turned down my request (no surprise there), so I took another look at the option my neighbor offered. The plat book identified another land owner who needed to be contacted, and he readily gave permission to cross his land too. So, I rode a trail my neighbor had bulldozed across the north edge of his land, and which lined up with one across the north edge of my land. At the second landowner's property, an old logging road continued due west to the main trail. At that point, there was a county sign facing the main trail (and referring to the old logging road) that said, "Foot Traffic Welcome, all motorized vehicles prohibited." That sign appeared to be on private property, and my GPS confirmed that.

I'm tempted to put up a sign that says, "Foot traffic prohibited, motorized vehicles welcome." Of course, my neighbors probably wouldn't go for that, but this does explain why we get so much "foot traffic" coming off the main trail during hunting season. The county is inviting people to hunt on our lands.

interesting find, but keep in mind that GPS systems have been known to be off by a few feet or so, plus you could run into emenent (<not sure of spelling) doman issues. any way you dice it it sucks. =[
