Please read if you are from Arizona, if your not, make sure this isnt happening where you live.

It is not a rumor. The (AZ) legislature is proposing to sweep $4 million from the (ORV) fund this fiscal year. Because we only get about $2 Million each year, we may have to cancel some contracts.

We are searching for ways to keep key personnel employed and at least the skeleton of a program operational until the economic picture gets better.

Please be aware that the OHV program is not the only one taking a hit. Over the last eight months we have lost 41% of our funding sources in State Parks including all of the State Lake Improvement Fund ($10 Million); 30% Of our General Fund support and $2.5 Million from our gate fees. It is our understanding that we may lose the rest of our General Fund support soon....Needless to say, times are not good.

We urge you to make your concerns known to the legislators in your district.
