sorry bob- I moved to New Hampshire- a state that doesn't treat their atv'ers like crack dealers the law started cracking down in central mass- just wasn't worth the risk.

    welcome California-
that's an old thread and it's no longer an option due to the amount of people who insist on having loud pipes and riding on roads- the law has come down hard and I no longer welcome people to my house to ride- especially people I haven't met on prior rides. the only legal riding places in mass are out in Pittsfield (western mass) but not worth the drive imho- I recommend reg'ing your atv in NH or Maine and just driving to NH or Maine- where you'll find thousands of atv trail miles in states that welcome atv'ing. NH has tons of trails; LMFT, Jericho, Pisgah, Claremont to name a few.
Central / northern Maine has the most; Jackman, The Forks, Greenville, bingham, Shirley mills- Southern maine has a few trails as well- SMATV (southern maine atv club) membership is only $35 yr and has some great "day-trip" trails just over the boarder.

@ nevio- other than designated trails in pittsfield, mass. and your private property, it's illegal to ride whether posted or not. You must carry written permission with you at all times while on other peoples property- verbal permission in not acceptable. Your atv must also be reg'd even while riding on private property, and 16 years or younger can only ride atv's / bikes up to 100cc (if my memory serves correctly) For these reasons, I no longer register in mass- instead I reg in NH & Maine, where 95% of my riding is done. I suggest you look into central & southern NH- Pisgah, LMFT, Jericho and northern Maine for endless trail riding and trail side access to restaurants and gas.

    thank you
