Default Kind of off the subject but.....

I know this is an atv forum but this isnt the first time someone has got off of the topic. The question I am wondering is how fast my Dodge Intrepid will go. I figure most of you guys are crazy like I am so you might know. and I dont know if it has a governer or not and if anyone has any info i am curious. Its a 1997 model with the 3.3 liter V-6 and of coarse 4-speed automatic. The fastest Ive had it was 107mph and it wasnt running hard at all. Any Ideas???

I used to have a 93 Daytona and it was electronically limited to 120 mph....I don't know if it's still the same way but I'd say it's pretty close. BTW it had a 3.0 V6 w/ 5-speed. Most speed shops should be able to get you a chip that will bypass any limiter

I used to have a 97 Intrepid, and it was a pretty nice ride. Now the bad news, and don't take this wrong, I'm not trying to be a d!ck, just warning you, Intrepid trannys are notorius for going out, including mine. I did all the regular fluid checks and changes, and babied that car, but it still pooped out on me. Just a word of warning, especially when you're pushing 107 mph. Oh yeah, the fastest I ever got mine was right at 100mph, thats what the speedo said, as well as the cop that pulled me over!!!!!! Luckily, I went to school with the guy, owed me a favor! Thank you Jesus!

Oh geez man you're pretty lucky. Yeah all the radars on the interstate where it shows you how fast you are going and when my dad got pulled over in it going 68 in a 45 it has been right on everytime. Ill beware of the tranny thanks for the forewarning.

My '94 Concorde with the 3.3 (same basic car as the Intrepid) hits about 117 before the governor kicks in. I would assume yours would be about the same.
