This really sucks!!! I was riding my favorite trails and noticed what we call O.P.P (police) here in Ontario, Canada had just pulled over 4 guys for drinking on the trails, totally wasted one guy couldn't even stand. The cops were pouring out their beer when i showed up with 2 of my freinds. Next thing you know they pulled us over too, asked us if we were drinking aswell we replied "no" then they tell us to sit tight they'll get back to us we watched them write up tickets to the other riders and radioed for a "I couldn't belive this" a flat bed to impound there machines. So 20 mins go by and one of the officers asked us again if we were drinking, again replieing "no" he tells us to sit tight, at this point my buddies and me are freaking, we want to ride and it was getting late. By this time a flat bed pulls around the corner and the tow truck driver gets out and starts talking to the cops and we see them all laughing and they look back at us, almost like oh yah you guys then they tell us we can go, my buddies and me look at each other like "what the hell?" and we leave. Baisically what i'm getting to here is you jerks that ride drunk and drinking on the trails really screw things up for the rest of us trying to have fun, no wonder insurance is so high and there closing trails left, right, and center.

Most likely the cops you wanted you guys to see their ( drunks) stuff get hauled off. I know it wasted some of your time but it may be considered a cheap leason.
Remember these cops didnt know you guys, They were not sure of your situation so they were taking things slow. I would rather drive up on a couple cops hauling people off then to come around a curve to find some drunk wrapped aropund a tree.

I tell ya what, If i want to drink a few on the trail i will ,now if you want to ride on public trails, where it is posted ,you do it at your own risk. Thats one thing me and my group enjoy doing is to ride the trails and drink a few. Not to get totally wasted not much sense in that, but if i see or here anyone calling me or my buddies a jerk for drinking on the trails, well get ready for a beer can zinged up side your head.

boy aren't we stereotyping just a tad. All my riding buds drink moderately during rides. Doesn't make you a danger to anyone including yourself. I weigh in at 225 lbs and can drink a sixer at home and still function perfectly. Out at the riding ares we routinely ride an hour or so and head back to the truck for a beer, then head out for another ride, then back to the truck. 4 beers in 3-4 hours is perfectly legal here in missouri by the hwy patrol, so it should be a good guideline out on the trails. I dont condone drinking a twelve pack and then heading out at WOT. Moderation is the key.

Here in Ontario,Canada we have a zero tolerance policy, trust me I dont mind drinking it's the jackass's up here where I'm from that know the rule I't used to be more relaxed until people started abuseing it someone gets killed and there goes the tolerance, I wouldn't be suprised if thats the way it will become in your area too, then the next thing you get is trail's closing then no one can go thats the point I'm trying to make. It's all fun and games till someone gets hurt! It may not be now but could come later. You think there's not going to be bad press about ATVing with OZZY's incident think again 20/20 will be all over that.
