Instead of spending hundreds of dollars extra for factory camo plastic for hunting purposes, buy a standard color machine and then buy a camo cover for $29. Certainly cheaper and it's a much more effective camo system plus you get a little protection from the elements for your machine while you're out chasing the big one. For those of you who think you can fool animals when your actually riding the machine.......well, we'll have to save that for another post.

Greetings,

You've hit upon a question I've had for some time: why do we want camo ATVs? Are we really fooling the animals with camo ATVs? Or are we trying to hide them from potential thieves? Or is it just because it looks cool? I don't mean these to be rhetorical questions -- I really don't know.

I have a green atv w/o cammo. I don't think cammo on an atv is too funtional except for hiding your ride in woods. It does look cool though. When I'm in the woods and out of sight of my 4-wheeler, I hide it in the bush and lock it up with a braided steel 5/8" cable and a hardened double cylinder dead bolt lock around a mature hardwood tree, just in case an unethical hunter or an immoral person would have any ideas about my ride. I trust everybody but protect family, myself and property first.

Here is the point, I also have an old beat up canoe that I catch fish all day long in. Does anyone know that fish don't give a rat's a** if you own a $20,000.00 boat or $50.00 boat? If you know HOW to fish, you will catch fish. If you know HOW to hunt, you will bag game whether your atv has cammo or is painted pink, is a Honda, Yamaha or Polaris.

00' 4x4 Big Bear, Old Town canoe.

Well, it'd be kind of boring to have all red or blue ATVs now wouldn't it????

Plus, I bet you didn't see me ride right past you did ya?

Greetings,

Actually, now that I think about it, animals just love my ATV. The mice have chewed on the choke **** and built nests in the canvas rack pack. I have also seen squirrels romping on it while parked in the woods.

Hey Mike...you are right - you were so stealth I didn't even see you, but my hunting skills are honed to such extremes that I sensed your presence before I smelled you!
lol!

P.J. Good question. It's silly to think that deer don't know when someone rides into their neighborhood. Or for that matter, when something strange is parked in their bedroom. They do but the thing is, if not spooked, deer are naturally curious and color or lack of does not matter.

I love to see these camo ATV's with chrome wheels. Really makes sense..

I wanted a camo cover for my Recon but after talking to afew people I decided not to get it because I was told that sand and dirt gets under those covers and will work over your fenders. Looks bad when and if you ever take them off. Just a thought....
