Why can't you ride double????
I know the manual says no and signs are posted, but why not??
The seat is certainly big enough. 2 riders don't always exceed the weight of one. Plenty to hang onto. etc etc |
Why can't you ride double????
the frame is not built for two, If you look at the new two up models that are coming out, the frame is longer and the wheel base is too...The reason why the manual says not to is because it was not designed for it...yes sometimes two riders weigh less then one, the distrobution of the weight is different, two people may lean a different way, causing the quad to become unbalenced and less controllable

There also is no place for the passenger to put their feet and hold on to. Look at the 2-up machines. They have handles for the passenger and pegs.
Most people don't know, but even on MCs, the passenger MUST have pegs on the frame or swingarm. At least in CA. ON a standard atv, the passenger could end up riding directly over, or even behind the rear axle. It just starts to screw with the hangling for some reason. Makes the front ends lighter. Why can't you ride double????
I saw some folks riding double the other day. They didn't make a hill, and the bike started rolling backward. The obviously inexperienced driver hit the REAR brake. The extra weight of the passenger, being so far back, made the bike do a tremendous wheelie, and dumped both of them off the back. The rider had it easy though, he landed on top of the passenger!

OK, that sounds very reasonable. Now what about a smaller child riding in front of the driver????
