There's only 5 months left till our Rubicon Trail Ride. Here's the information for anyone interested in joining us:

ATV RUBICON TRAIL RIDE – 2001

JUNE 28-30, 2001

(THIS IS NOT A SPONSORED RIDE AND EACH RIDER PARTICIPATES AT THEIR OWN EXPENSE AND RISK.)

The dates to enjoy the ride on the Rubicon Trail are set for June 28-30, 2001. This will be a great chance for all ATV enthusiasts who only know each other via the ATV Boards to get together, meet each other and ride the World Famous Rubicon Trail.

This Trail is rated a 10, one of the roughest trails out there. Based on my Labor Day ride, I am going to make a few recommendations that it is a must that your quad be a 4X4, also that each quad have a winch and a skid plate (this is not mandatory, however, highly recommended). If you do not have a winch, there will be plenty of riders to help.

THE PLAN

JUNE 28, 2001 - Meet at the base of the dam at Loon Lake and be on the trail no later than 10:00 a.m.

Ride to Spider Lake, have lunch, decide to continue to Rubicon Springs and spend the night or camp at Spider Lake. (If we choose to stay at Rubicon Springs, we may reserve the main campground, if there are enough of us.)

JUNE 29, 2001 - Get up, have breakfast and ride to the end of the Trail at the Tahoe side.

Then we can turn around and either ride out to the Trailhead or spend another night on the Trail and ride out the next day.

I was told that from Loon Lake to the end of the Trail at the Tahoe side is 16
miles. 32 miles round trip.

SUGGESTED SUPPLIES

1 – We will all need to take extra gas, at least 5 gallons – two 2 1/2 gallon cans.
2 – Plenty of water.
3 – Bring the proper clothing. It gets chilly at night and morning.
4 – Appropriate camping gear and food.

WE SHOULD ALL RIDE RESPONSIBLY AND REMEMBER THAT SAFETY COMES
FIRST.

COME PREPARED TO HAVE FUN.

Please notify me if you plan to join us, as I need a head count for reservations at the
Dirty Dozen Campground.

Any questions, e-mail me @ Bobmar126@AOL.com or call Bob at (916) 920-1391.

I am working a GPS Map guide to the Rubicon. I hope to finish it before your trip. Does anyone have any GPS Tracklog Data, Waypoints to share?
