My boy brought home a 1987 Polaris 250x. We cleaned carb up and gave it new mixed gas as the oil pump is disconnected. Runs pretty good. Isn't perfect. air box is cracked, belt cover has hole rubbed in it from the belt, no taillight, needs handle bar grips. Fenders are in nice shape. Seat is pretty good. new tires on the front and next to new tires on the rear. New Gates drive belt. Headlight works.
We are going to put it up for sale. What's it worth is the question. Research I have done says this was a one year deal where Polaris put a snowmobile engine in an atv chassis.

Wondering any insight that anyone can offer me on this atv. Thanks

 

One year deal on the 250X Cyclone. Wasn't a snowmobile engine,but basically the same 250 engine they used through out the years of production.Pull start only and part of the difference between it and the Trail Boss 250 was the way it was clutched.Hard hitting at high rpms.

 

That is the one we got old Polaris tech. Do not have the rear rack on it like in your picture. Is it worth a $1000 to a collector or is it lower dollar unit based on the few things it needs fixed. Putting it up for sale this weekend as is.

 

It's like any atv..Have to find someone really looking for one plus depends on condition as to what you can sell one for.
