Yamaha's Got a New Three-Wheeler

It's got its sights set on the road unlike the Tri-motos of years past: https://atvconnection.com/articles/t...r-coming-soon/ |
It should have good braking power. I'm assuming this tilting 3-wheeled technology that Yamaha just invented is better than what's been used on scooters for the last 12 years. Piaggio MP3

Just my opinion, but just because you can build something.....doesn't mean you have to.

Twice as much traction up front makes for better cornering. If it doesn't fall over while sitting still that's a plus too.

I was expecting something like the Can-Am Spyder. I kinda like the concept of that vehicle with the wide front end. That would eliminate the #1 issue I would have with a motorcycle, making sure it didn't fall over at slow speeds or stopping or in loose terrain like gravel. The semi-auto trans of the Spyder would be welcome too.

We sold the Piaggio MP3 along with Vespa and it was one trick machine that was easy to ride. Lean further over than a lot of cycles, cornering excellent and coming to a stop just push a button and the front end stiffens up so you don't have to put your foot down. Senses very little throttle starting off and it unlocks. If the Yamaha handles as good or better especially with that dual front fork set up there could be a good market for them.

I'll keep the two wheels I have.
First thought I had was, now I have to change oil in 4 shocks. And it looks like it's not going to be easy to get to them. Be interesting to see how long term tire wear goes. Oh yeah, extra tire to buy now too. Also would wonder how going darkside (car tire) on the back would affect the handling. |
