do you think it is ok for a 13 year old to have the use of a 700 cc quad?

robbieg,

Yes, It would have been ok for my son.

He started on an 1997 XR70 then went to an 1997 XR100 after that went to a 1999 300ex and at the same time was riding a 1997 KDX220 and now at 16 years of age rides a 2001 KDX200 and a Raptor.

He has had many hours of experience and I would trust him completely on the machine you describe.

All depends on the rider and how many hours they have had in the saddle.

Now he has his students pilots license and soloed before he could actually drive.

Chet

ya i totaly aggree it think it mostly depends on experience obvuisly a 13 year old should not just jump on a kxf700 and go for a spin for the first time however if you ridin since your 6 like me its ok i'll be fine on a shee or rap next year(and probable even better then some first time adults) it all depends on experience if you have lots its fine if not you should start with something with a little less power jmo

I agree, BIG NO! Why not get it for yourself though? Let him learn on the 300 you have, then as he develops experiance and skill let him play with the 700. I surely wouldnt get a 13 year old a 700 right off the bat though, sounds like a visit to the hospital just waiting to occur.

GL with everything

Happy Thanksgiving E1!

INEXPERIENCE IS WHY THEY SET STUID AGE LIMITS.

I agree with all previous posts. A 700cc is too much for an inexperienced 13 year old. He/she could get hurt.
