Default Cross bar pad in the way

i have been giving this some thought lately. on my 2005 honda 400ex i had to replace my stock handle bars with some aftermarket ones. the replacements are AWESOME, which i have had them for a couple months now. the only problem is the crossbar pad is in the way of my key/instrument panel. so i have to guess if im in neutral, and i cant really remove my key all that easily. i was thinking of re-mounting my key/ neutral light/ reverse light somewhere on my quad. i was thinking of putting the key up near the front of the gas tank. but im not sure where to put my indicator lights. any one on here ever done anything like that or have a friend that did that with his quad or 400ex. im not thrilled about drilling new holes but it would be awesome if i could see my indicator lights again. thanks for any input.

I just had the same problem yesterday on my Warrior when i put my new bars on. I just said the hell with it and stripped the idiot lights off and tucked the the wire down under the plastics. You should probably be able to know when your in neutral. Just let of the clutch slowly and if it starts to move a little bit you know your still in gear.

Just move the key to the side. All of you have to do is drill a new hole.
