Ohton Racing Port Job??
#21
well i know that ohton did that girl's banshee but he did not do my. i have had the same thing dont to my banshee as she has done to her's. we both have drag pipes, head work done, and port joby done, and every time i raced her i got on top first. no matter if she left first. the only diffrent is the guy that did the motor. i had my done by rudy at port magic. i love my banshee. i run 15(f) 43(r) gears with 21x12x8 tires. there was a lot of fast bikes out there but the bike i could not tuch was the guys from D&M Racing. i think if i had to do it all over i would take my motor to the guys at D&M Racing. well ther is my 2 cents.

SBISHOP- If you're interested in D&M Racing in Phoenix, check out this: metaltechproducts.com.
D&M Racing is owned by Doug Kurtz, Rudy's son, I believe.
One more thing... as much as I'd like to see this topic end, I think it is important to realize that every major engine builder has its supporters and naysayers...Charlie Ohton is no exception, and blue_banshee has every right to post what he deems relevant to the topic. However, Ohton clearly has many satisfied customers here so you may want to go with him, Rippin shee.

Hi, sbishop
on't get to happy if you can beat a girl now! I seen this Girl beat a little of everyone out there, give here some credit. I also seen a Blue Ohton Bike beat some of the D&M bikes,
Doug Kurtz is not Rudys Son, I have talked to Rudy and Charlie out at the race track, I have seen there bikes run with K&T and everyone else out there at the track. You cannot judge a pair of bikes by who wins anymore, there are to many variables, like rider abilities and weight and who knows anymore about what is REALLY in someones engine, any of the high tech engine builders can make a 500+ engine look like a 350.
I also witnessed races on the hill where be if one is losing they pull out of they race so they don't look bad. I would also like to tell you that D&M has a bad reputation in our camp, everything from being overcharged to not receiving there own engine parts, here is my friends phone number 602-229-1707 he took his bike into D&M and when recieved it blew up 1 minute later, he was told by doug to fix it it would cost more money. He then took it to another shop where they found that the modified stuff was not even modified which was paid for. He also found out that his crank was not the same crank, it was someone elses abused crank(that was the problem). Call that guy if you would like his name is Gary. I was out talking to the D&M guys thanksgiving and some of them told me that Doug gets his own stuff built by other Builders like rudy, and Dan from michigan, Rudy tells me that he has done work for D&M. When I was standing there at the hill talking to some mohawk helmet guy from D&M's camp a rider pulled up and flipped off doug and told him many bad words, the story was that he was another person ripped of from D&M and recently found out that the stuff he paid for was not in his engine. (His name was Freddie)
Also note that alot of the high tec bikes that you see from them are not theirs, they were purcased from other people that had other builders make them. It seems like there are all kinds of bad things out there, this post is not going the way it should I believe, it could hurt some people and cause lots of possible problems. I believe that you should get motor work done from someone that has many years of experience and give you support, I do my own tinkering on my own bike, hope I caused no harm but I thought you should know. There is my 3 cents.

O.K. obviously this topic has gotten a little out of hand. I didn't mean for this post to turn into a "Shop Bashing" Forum. But that is what it is slowly turning into and that's not what this website is about. I would like to thank everybody for their responses (some were more thought out than others) For the record I have decided to have my Banshee ported by Charlie Ohton. I have come to this conclusion for three reasons.
1.- Ohton Racing is a respected and well known atv shop.
2.- I have swapped e-mails with people that have had work done by Ohton Racing, and they highly recommend them.
3.- I have swapped e-mails and talked to Charlie on the phone and he was very very helpful. Customer service is very important to me. I want to know that when I ship my new banshee motor clear across the United States that the guy receiving it actually gives a damn about me. And I want to know that when my motor leaves the shop and it's back in my hands that he is willing to help me out any way he can to make sure I am completely satisfied. I beleive Charlie Ohton is this man, and that is why he is getting my buisiness. Thanx again, Brian, Sunderland Massachusetts.

I made my first trip to Glamis this past thanksgiving and would just like to say one thing. I seen that gorgeous girl on that red and white Ohton Banshee and it was incredibly fast. I think whats more important is that everyone was out there having fun, lets all keep focused on the proper things so we can keep awesome riding places like Glamis open in the future. Thats my 2 cents worth. Thank You for listening.

Wow this did get out of hand!! Well to add to this anyway its a 2 stroke period they blow up no matter who builds them. Charlie does a excellent job and he does care about his work. He builds a fast and reliable motor at a great price. If you are very worried about 2 stroke reliabilty buy a 4 stroke period. 2 strokes blow up and mostly due to maintenance (filter cond. etc) it is very rare to even find someone to warranty a 2 stroke motor as Charlie did in this case that really shows what kind of guy he really is try warrenting a 2 stroke by some other companies its not gonna happen. Charlie is a stand up guy and does very good work and I believe anyone would be very happy with his work.

Well, I got my motor back together yesterday and let me tell ya, I am very happy with the results. I had Ohton Racing race port my motor, advance the timing, head mod, true & weld the crank, and port match the case. I'm running T5's with this set up, and it absolutely frickin' RIPPS. I highly recommend Ohton Racing to anybody that wants their Banshee to fly. Thanx for the great work Charlie, Brian, Sunderland MA

i just had my 97 banshee done by ohton racing and it runs awsome. It has the tons of power. i got a 370 long rod with race porting. the only problem i had was the jetting with it.
i would recommend him to anyone.
i should have pictures of it soon i got the frame and motor powdercoated. looks and runs great
