honda trx250r w/ crf450 motor?

i have a custom honda trx250r and i wanted to step it up and put in a crf450 motor. i understand that lonestar makes a frame. but to avoid the high cost, is it possible to just add new motor mounts? im told the engine is to tall for the frame and the frame needs to be chopped out and re-welded. can anyone help me?

I know where you can get a frame and engine easily....it's called the TRX450R! The CRF got fuel injection last year, so just wait a little while and you will be able to get yourself a nice new fuel injected TRX450R.

That engine will destroy a 250R frame, unless you reinforce it heavily. Better to just get a 450R frame if you have a CRF engine sitting around.

i have the baja frame made by lonestar which is thier toughest frame. its reinforced heavily and i can reinforce the motor mounts. and the trx hasnt came out with the fuel injected version. i can save money this way bc i already have 15,000 into this bike. instead of buying an 8000 dollar quad plus extras, i can spent 2 grand to hop this 1 up. and my brother has the trx450...dont like it. sits 2 high...top heavy. 250r geometry still has its advantages

If I had a 250R on a Lonestar frame, I sure wouldn't tear it up....especially if I had 15k cumped into it.

No no no! I have a friend with the same setup, but on a stock (gusseted) 250r frame, and it works just fine, no, alot better than fine. It slips right in and out, it just need custom motor mounts. Its one of the fastest out there. I say do it!
