I just picked up a 2001 Banshee and the left carb discharges fuel from the overflow hose any time I leave the fuel on.

I have diassamebled the carb and ruled out any possibility that the fuel valve is dirty or broken. I am convinced it must be the float adjustment.

I cannot seem to understand how to lower the floats so they close off the fuel sooner, therefore preventing the bowel from overflowing. Could someone please explain it in very simple terms?

It looks like all I need to do it take hold of the small metal bar that holds the two floats together and bend it down, away from the top of the carb. Wouldn't this make the floats cut the fuel off sooner, thereby eliminating any overflow?

Again, it seems that by bending the floats down towards the ground, they will sit higher in the float bowel making the fuel valve cut of the flow of fuel earlier.

Please help!

Arms down, floats hit sooner as bowl fills, shuts off fuel sooner...Dont go too wild as you can create a lean condition under extended full throttle runs...Try .020" at a time max...

Inspect the seat and the needle tip real well...any sign of grooves, nicks, etc, its easy and cheap to replace....

The needle and seat are bad,My banshee did the same thing and I went down and bought 2 new needle and seats and it cured the problem>Be warned thay are expensive for what they are.

one thing to check b4 taking off the carbs, I believe there are screws at very bottom of the bowls for draining the carb bowls that let the gas in the bowls out the overflow tubes you might check and make sure they are tight.

but also the instuctions for float ajustment is at the www.toomey.com site. under tech. documents
> T5 Banshee racing pipe Kit..
