Default '99 Big Boss 500 - 6x6, fuel line question

Removed the fuel lines from the fuel pump (tai yogiken) repair the carb support , broken, needed to be welded.

Didn't label the lines before removing... oops! "P" is the vacuum, I reconnected the lines, as I thought they would go, filter on gas tank line. Put all the cowling back...

The bike is now really hard to start after a short ride, it starts on the first crank when cold.

I can't find the line diagram anywhere - ?

I may have it right (50 -50 chance), could someone please give me the correct line - in & out for this pump?

This would rule out any other prob I may be having. There were no other prob before I fixed it!

Thanks in advance,

b

"P" vacuum line goes to right side of carb, lower left side of carb is fuel inlet with the inline filter coming from the petcock. Look up your model under "fuel tank" and "engine mounting" should help you on the lines. Browse OPT

I didn't remove the lines from the carb, I took 'em off the pump, so I could get the tank off.

Looked up what was suggested, not clear?

From the tank, connect to the front (of bike, to) of the pump or engine side of the pump?

Wouldn't the filter go from tank to pump or from pump to carb?

I have the Hayne's (2508) manual, clear as mud!

The vaccum (P) line is the one coming from the right side of the carb. Top of the fuel pump if I remember correctly is the "in" from tank, bottom is "out" to petcock. Then from the petcock to the left lower side of carb. Look at the fuel pump itself, should have "arrows depicting in and out " if I can remember back that far?? There also is an inline fuel filter depicted on the break down going from the petcock to the carb. OPT

Thanks - makes sense!

There were no arrows on the pump, that'd be too easy!

The petcock is on the tank (on - off - reserve), I don't recall seeing another valve on the carb...?

Not a valve on the carb! Just the right side of the carb has a vacuum line hooked to it that hooks to the "P" vacuum inlet of the fuel pump. OPT
