Default 94 400l rebuilt

Well thanks for your input. I started with carb and found the choke was not working it was stuck. That was my problem. But now I have lean pop and can't seem to ritchen it up. When I give it gas it will pop and stall. Witch mean to lean right.

If you've rebuilt the engine, install a new carb kit and see how it does then. It's just a process of elimination. Look at the basics on Mikuni carbs.

OTP, i thought I fixed the 'no estart' issue by getting another battery. Well, a couple weeks ago i took it quadding and had to leave it a friends cabin b/c when i pressed start it would just 'click'. Fast forward to today when I got it and guess what it fired right up (i had to choke it ofcourse). What the heck is all I can say it never has this issue at home, i dont know how to trouble shoot it without it acting up. Any ideas as to what I can do here?

Since it was sitting for a while without a cover the rear axle and a-arms are a bit rusty any way short of painting them that i can get this rust off? Also, what kind of lubricant is good to use on the drive chains?

Thanks for all your help OTP

Check the battery and solenoid connections, plus check that 12 volts is on the starter wire side of the solenoid when you try to crank it. If there is voltage, then possible starter problem. If no voltage then solenoid could be bad. Jump the solenoid connections also to see if the starter works. Plenty of rust removal products like Naval Jelly that have been around for years. Best to use a good chain lube, one that's ok for o-ring chains.Any brand is okay.

Does the ratchet kick out? Is the reel plate dirty? May just need to CAREFULLY remove the bolt holding the plate and check that the small ratchet spring is in place. May recoil as you remove pressure from the plate and just need a little grease around the plate and yoke spring. Hopefully not a broken main spring.Dirt Cheap Yamaha, Honda, Arctic Cat & Polaris OEM Parts & Accessories – Cycle Parts Warehouse
