The fan stopped working on my 2003 Sportsman 500HO. My stepson put a toggle switch to the fan so we can turn it on and off as needed.

I want to get it back without the toggle switch and can not find the temp sensor.

So where is the temp sensor or could there be another problem.

The fan comes on and off with the toggle switch just fine.

Welcome! Temp sensor (4010161) is mounted at the right bottom of the radiator. This is the most common problems for fans not kicking on when they short out. Look under "cooling system" on your model. Browse OPT

 

If you want to avoid the dealer the temp sensor from 84-88 Nissan Maxama or 86-89 Nissan Stanza will work.

If its Your Themal Switch (Part number 4010161) you can get there three from a Auto store for less money.

All have the same Screw thread (M16x1.5). I have been using the Blue Streak but know guys using the Napa as well.
The only differance is the plug in for the wire,just splice your old plugin to the new
sensor.

 

Thanks to all the prob is fixed and I sold it and moved up in size and down a year. I bought an 02 Sportsman 700 Twin.
