Polaris 570 Ranger won't start after washing
I used my pressure washer to clean my midsize 2014 Polaris 570 Ranger.
I washed it and now it won't start. It is getting good spark and even then I put in a new spark plug. It turns over fine but just won't start. I've blown everything off with my air hose and it has sit for 2 days but still won't start. Anybody got any ideas on what to check now? |
Best thing is to still pull the electrical connections and use dielectric grease. Same for the plug cap, just a little dab in it and make sure all water is away from the spark plug and cap first or spark can ground out on the head.

I've got good spark. I feel it might have something to do with the fuel injection. Just not sure how to deal with fuel injection. I have used dielectric on what I can get apart,
Thank you for your input |
Fuel injection is a closed system.Plus check that you don't have water in the air box and filter. Plus check the fuse block and all fuses. All it takes is a little moisture to screw things up. If it was running fine before you washed it,you just have to trace down what area was affected even if do you have spark. I'm pretty good about engines and so are you as I just finish going over the plug ins with dielectric grease and making sure that the fuel pump was working. I checked the fuses and switch some relays to see if that might be the problem. All were OK. I did pull the air box and cleaned the filters and box.
I really hate taking it to the dealer so will keep trying for awhile longer. Thank you so much for your input. |
Did you try giving the intake a shot of gas to see if it fires up ?
|
Yes but the butterfly stays closed. I could open it and put something in to hold it but not sure if that isn't the problem. I will try that just to see if it fires.
Thank you |
I just held open the butterfly and give it a shot of gas and it fired right up but had shut it off as it went full bore.
So not it's narrow down to the injection. Any idea's anybody? |

I sprayed a plugin by the injector with electronic cleaner and tried it again and it fired right up.
Thank you all for your input and hope this helps someone else. Bill444 |
