2003 Polaris Predator 500 starting problem

I am having trouble starting my quad. I recently had a mechanic replace the starter clutch since the old had the bolts broken inside. I ran it for around an hour and it just shut off on me while running. When trying to start it again it cranks very slowly only for a couple of seconds then stops.

Battery is fully charged and perfect working condition.I tried connecting starter directly to the battery and it does same thing.

can anyone please help??

Pull the spark plug and see if the engine turns over faster. If it does the same as before, could possibly be a piston seizure since it died on you. If it does spin over I'd at least start with a compression check. Seems like most of the Predators that were brought to the shop on not cranking had starter clutch problems or people didn't ever check clearances on the shim under bucket valve system and valves were too tight to crank up and run. It may very well be something related to the flywheel/starter clutch area that you just had worked on also. Just take it one step at a time.

I tried hand crancking it earlier today with a ratchet and socket and it did spin but with resitance.i had to apply some force the get it to spin somewhat, but i did not remove the spark plig.

You can pull the stator cover and check this area out and pull the spark plug. If nothings wrong what the mechanic did and it's still hard to turn over then the problem could in the piston/crank area.
