polaris 500 sportsman EFi
 

Hello, I was hoping someone may be able to suggest a remedy for the problem I have with the 500 sportsman EFI.
It seems to go really well in full throttle position, but when using less throttle it starves, runs erratic and cut out. sometimes you can keep it running and it will idle high for 10 seconds and then either return to normal idle rpm or cut out. Will usually restart and idle normal after that and will always start up, idle and rev up all good cold, its not untill you start trying to use the throttle at varying degrees. Ive stripped all the wiring from all the sensors out of the wrap and gently pulled to see if there is any breaks or damage, I found one chaffed one and insulated that, ive changed the fuel and spark plug. still plays up though constantly

9 times out of 10 it's the t-bap (bap) sensor wiring or even the connector that's the problem if it won't idle, back fires,surges,dies,etc. A lot of times codes won't be thrown either on shorts.This is the one we replaced the most.
