'12 trans fit in a '10 550x2?

Got a great buy on a nos transmission for a '12 and up a few years ago. Wondering if it will bolt right in to a '10. Same engine, 550.

Different part numbers for the gear cases, but that's not always that big of a deal as one small change can trigger that. Does show the 2010 to fit only 2010 models in the Polaris Parts usage guide, but the 2012 was used on up to 2014 models also. As far as appearance they look similar. It may be a simple as a mounting point that could be worked around or adapted. 2010 gear case is first. Drive coupler shown in the first pic and the one in 2012 show to be different. That may not be that big of a deal either in adapting over. 2010 is the one,2012 second.

Thanks for the reply. Yes I have already looked at the ipl's hence the question. Thought maybe someone had success already. As far as different mounting points, I doubt the castings have changed. The machine it would go in is very clean so maybe I can just eyeball things up externally first. My concern is if the coupler physically changed (looks like different part numbers for them as well). Thanks again.

Couplers do look like they could be the problem area.Couplers could possibly be able to be changed over, but that's still another unknown factor. If there is someone that may have done a gear case change out like this, hopefully they will post.
