88 2x4 wont run. No suction

No suction at the carb means compression is either low(either bored to much for the piston, broken ring, etc) or crank seals are leaking.not being able pull a vacuum. You have to have BOTH top end compression and also at the bottom (seals) for it to run properly. I'd do a compression check first. Must have over 120psi to run properly, but a new bore job and piston should be close to 140 psi or more if done properly. OPT

Kind of saw that the seals may be the next thing. The 20 over bore and new piston has been done spot on. My brother suggested blocking off the intake and exhaust and putting a little air in the bottom and see if we can frigure if the seals are leaking.
Should be able to hear a leak. Going to pull the side off anyway. Hope I can replace the seals with out dismantling the motor now that the top has been done. Thanks very much. Let you know how it goes from here. Lee

You have to pull the flywheel and stator on the right side and pop off the front clutch on the other to get to the seals.Easy pop out and installation of the new seals. If you have a block off plug for the exhaust and a low pressure gauge and adapter for the intake you can pump in no more than 7 psi and it must hold this pressure. I'm betting on crank seals if everything else is right. OPT
