Default 2002 Polaris Sportsman 400 4x4 no spark

Drove it, then parked it. No spark. Made sure it was not kill swith. Ok here is what I tested, and hopefully I am in the right direction. I am getting no power to the ignition coil, replaced ignition coil still getting no power. Checked ohms on the exciter coils green to red was 3.1, spec from manual is 3.2. Check ohms on green to black/red was 435 ohms, spec from manual says 446. Checked trigerr coils, which i assume would be the called the coil pulser as well, white/white red and it read 95 ohms, spec was 97. So I am assuming that means a bad CDI? Please tell me I am at least going in the right direction lol. Thanks alot!

Pull the black wire from the cdi(kill circuit) and see if you have spark. If you do then either you have a short in the left control switch on/off wiring, the ignition switch could be faulty, but if they test out ok,then it's possible the cdi itself has shorted out internally through the black wire. I've found this to happen before.

I have pulled the black wire, still no spark. It has a new ignition switch I replaced about a month ago because the one in there was aftermarket and wanted to replace it before it went bad. I seem to think the stator and coil pulser are good, although they are a few ohms from spec. I was thinking CDI but wanted an expert opinion. Thanks again

The resistance specs from the manual are + or - 20% so by your readings then no the stator shouldn't be the problem. Just one faulty ground wire can cause some problems also.Hope you can track it down to something simple other than the cdi. Keep us updated.
