Replacing the fiber inner and metal outer washer may help if they are worn. I've found some one way bearings like this also that would grab intermittently and were just caked with belt dust and dirt that just needed to be cleaned up and lightly greased. Main thing is to just tear it down and replace the washers,inspect the one way inner bearings and thin metal holding strips. If they're rusted or missing,the one way may need to be replaced.Hopefully just a good cleaning will work.

Yep simple thing like a worn belt can cause problems also. Glad that was all it was. Sooner or later the one way bearing will need to be serviced and here's some good posts on this for future reference.https://atvconnection.com/forums/pol...-creeping.html
