More than likely the expensive thermister sensor module under the front panel has shorted causing the hot light.Item#29 on the parts break down.Dirt Cheap Yamaha, Polaris, Suzuki & Kawasaki OEM Parts & Accessories – Cycle Parts Warehouse There's a fan sensor also on the oil cooler that sends a signal to this module to kick the fan on. My two cents is to disconnect this module as the fan only kicks on when oil temp is at 260 degrees, then kicks off at 240 degrees! The fan is not really needed imo on this oil cooled machine and a lot of them out there that don't even have fans. Entirely up to you on this. Several updated thermisters on ebay.Thermister Switch Kit 2000 2001 2002 Polaris Trail Boss Magnum 325 | eBay As far as the lights, first check the low beam wiring, especially the green wires that can pull out of the connector. Then check the bulbs themselves. Tail light takes a plain 1157 bulb available at any auto supply.
