My two cents is that Polaris AGL is still the best. Either that or Amsoil gear case fluid. Some people swear by auto motor oil,but most are too thick to lubricate properly imo. Drain plug is on the left hand side. Item #4 on the parts breakdown.

I am a big believer in Amsoil products for 2 cycle engines. I've been using it since the early 70s in all my snowmobiles pre injection. I'll track some down tomorrow. Thanks for the heads up; There is a lot of conflicting info floating around the web and my Haynes manual

Use vice grips if you have to on the gear case belcrank to get it back into neutral. Once there you can adjust the linkage and see if that helps. These older shift boxes when parts became worn caused a lot of problems.I've addressed this many times. Look at these posts and shows what you need to do. https://atvconnection.com/forums/pol...ml#post3076110

Disconnect the linkage from gear case if you have to,use a big pair of vice grips or channel locks on the belcrank and have someone rock the machine back and forth while you pull on it.
