04 700 Twin EFI trouble
Have read all I can find about this cutting out issue on this site. Did find bare wires on the T-BAP harness so replaced with OTB repair harness. Machine is not showing any codes but still cuts out about 4400 RPM as soon as it warms up. If I hit the kill switch and back on right away it runs great for the next several minutes then have to "reset" again. Any suggestions on what to check next? I did download the manual so can follow references to that.

I'd do a fuel pressure check when cold and when it starts cutting out. Should hold 39 psi +/-2 psi. Possible a fuel pump could be getting weak when warm. If you rule that out, then go through the trouble shooting guides in the efi and electrical section. Could also be wiring or connector problem leading from the ignition switch or within the switch itself. A lot of times codes aren't thrown on intermittent problems which can make it frustrating.

Ok,
So I had a chance to hook up the fuel pressure tester and did learn something. At start the pressure jumps to 39 and stays there for idle. Rev the engine and the needle bounces alot but seems to center around 39. Let the quad warm up for a while and took it for a short ride. 2 minutes in I get the bogging/starving when I mash the throttle, look at gauge and it's crashed to 10 psi. I quickly cycle the kill switch on left handle bar, by quickly I mean I don't have to restart the machine as it's still turning. After doing that I get full power again and fuel pressure stays at 39. Something resets when I cycle the kill switch and the problem goes away for a few minutes. It strikes me as electrical but but the crashing fuel pressure makes me think physical or mechanical degradation.
Any thoughts?

Sounds like to me a fuel pump or regulator is stating to fault.May be right, may be wrong, but they have both aftermarket in a kit.NEW Polaris Sportsman 500 700 800 EFI Fuel Pump X2 MV7 2004-2010 2520437 +REGLTR | eBay
