Polaris website list 3 with different numbers. Based on the vin number. I have my vin number and can't figure out which one to go with.

 

If I'm not mistaken part #3211077 is for several different models without EBS. The other 2 are for EBS clutches for sure. I would have thought the higher number is a replacement for the other, but if it was they shouldn't show the old number.

ETA: I took another look and it said that belt is used on 244 models. Part #3211113 isn't used on anything. That leaves part #3211091 for EBS.

Look on the mfg build date sheet below your registration slip. You have the AZ model. All that means is body color which is Indy Red. Shows that you take the 3211077 non ebs belt. I looked up the 3 belts for the 3 driven clutches you circled.

#3211077 is for non EBS for several different models of ATVs.
#3211113 was for EBS but not used on anything. Maybe replaced by #3211091?
#3211091 is for EBS.

There are only 2 belts available that might fit your ATV. One is for EBS and one is for non EBS.

 

Seems to be a lot of confusion over this and even from some Polaris dealers. The 3211113 ebs belt is used on some 500/800 and other models and still available as shown on the Polaris Parts guide,but like this fellow found out 10 years ago when he posted on Polaris Riders that his dealers list was wrong.

Well, went to buy a belt for the sportsman 800. Polaris was going to sell me the belt part# 3211106. This is the part number on their microphiche and all others that I looked at. They were out of stock, so I could not buy one. I decided to tear the belt off and take it to a few parts stores to match it up. Once I got the belt off I noticed it was a different number (3211113). I did some investigating and here is what I found - #3211106 - $88.19 is listed as stock belt for the 05 and 06 800EFI. It is NOT an EBS belt and cost much more than the actual belt. #3211113 is the belt that came off of my 800EFI. It is listed as an EBS belt and costs $60.89. So, for those of you who are going to buy replacement belts for the 800 EFI with EBS, save the almost $30 and get the belt that is for an EBS machine! Not sure if I am the only one that didnt know this or not, but at least now all of us here can save some cash."

People buying a used machine using a different belt may have a little problems on getting the right one if someone substituted belts. Polaris has a much longer list than this one from Partzilla and goes all the way to some 2017 and 2018 models also.https://www.partzilla.com/product/polaris/3211113

The belt that is on this machine was replaced 2 years ago by a polaris dealer. I am going to take it apart to see what the number is. Weird thing is this belt only has about 80 hours of run time on it and it is destroyed... if they put the wrong belt on it, could that be why it failed prematurely?

 

Possible because it was the wrong belt,BUT first off do you have the ebs or non ebs clutches or do you know? This can help narrow it down a bit.

 

when I click on the bottom link It won't go through. But I do know when I go down hill with my 98 I can feather the gas and the motor holds me back. On this one how ever the motor does not hold me back. I have to use my brakes all the way down the hill. But if they put the wrong belt on??

 

Your 98 had non ebs clutches and used the 3211077 belt. Ebs clutches really stared kicking off on 2000 models. Just look at your drive clutch and see if you have the one with the one way bearing(item#1) like in the top pic or the non ebs clutch in the bottom pic. Both were available that year.
