carb help on 2006 ranger 500 4x4
At the very top of the carb is a hose nipple that faces toward the front of the machine. On mine there is no hose or anything attached to it. Is this suppose to have a hose on it or is it just a vent of some kind. The port sticks out of what I think is a vacuum diaphram. Have only had the machine for a very short time and wanted to make sure what ever belongs there is in place. thanks wk.

Funky year model. Nipple didn't hook to anything.Don't know what application this carb may have been intended for originally, but I was a little puzzled too when I first saw one..Plus if I remember correctly only had two regular screws on the carb cap and two "tamper proof" screws so you couldn't tear the carb apart at the top.But the screws can come out with small pliers if need be and replaced with regular screws if it ever needs service.
