It would seem they would have figured this out by now. I assume a different design for the exhaust and more heat shielding on the newer models but with engines making this much hp, I guess they're still generating too much heat. It is funny you never hear about any issues like this with any Can-Am utvs and they make basically the same amount of power in similar vehicles. I'm sure their engines generate an equal amount of heat but I guess they have better heat shielding and/or better routing of brake and fuel lines. Its probably a relatively easy fix but all these recalls are really hurting the reputation of Polaris.
