Default RZR Trail - What Years Are What Generation?

Looking to purchase a RZR Trail, but having a hard time distinguishing what years fall under what generation, and after searching for 30 minutes figured it was time to post. I *think* 2018 is a new generation, preceded by 2015-2017, based on what accessories work with the same machine from their website. Could anyone clear this up for me? Thank you!

UPDATE: Upon further inspection, maybe nothing has changed since 2012? Anything change technology-wise to make buying a more recent model better?

If it is a Rzr 800 Trail it is a first generation. If it is a Rzr 900 Trail, it is second generation. I don't think they are broken down farther than that as far as "generations" go. I've owned each generation, and the 900 (2nd generation) is better at everything compared to the Rzr 800
