2012 Ranger 400 - Mystery Tube

Riding out to check on pastures the other day and noticed a clear, 1/4" poly tube about 2 feet long laying on the ground. Had to come off the Polaris but I can't seem to figure out where. As a side not I have noticed a little bit of a gas smell and small amount of leakage on skid plate.

Any ideas? Drain line off of carburetor? Part diagrams don't show anything.

Thanks.

Look at the bottom of the float bowl. Has a small over flow/drain nipple that the hose hooks to.Parts lists don't always show drain lines. If you're smelling fuel, the needle and seat may be leaking, over filling the carb and running out the over flow tube. Might be time to install a good carb kit.https://www.ebay.com/itm/Shindy-Carb...=mtr#vi-ilComp

Thanks for the reply. I checked yesterday evening when I got home and that tube was intact so it must have come from somewhere else. ?

Thanks for the heads up on the carb kit!

Well then, there are atmospheric vent lines on the top of the carb that you can check, the gas tank has a vent line that may have fallen off, the gear case has a vent along with the oil tank. Gotta be somewhere you can trace it back to.

Another place to check is on some Batteries have a vent tube that goes down from the side of the battery.
