old polaris tech. thanks for your response. dont know if i should waste my time talking to polaris about this . i wont know how much damage is done till i get inside motor. iwould like to know what air filter to run. this seems nearly impossible to me that you can wreck a motor this fast.

Sorry to hear about a machine this new having only 30 psi compression. Even with the compression release on the cam it should have between 80-120 psi. Polaris probably wouldn't help but I'd give K&N an ear full as they sell these filters for off road vehicles. Probably wouldn't help there either as they'd probably say it should have been cleaned daily if you were in dusty conditions. Sometimes you have to learn the hard way. I'm still learning the hard way on some things as old as I am.. As far as filters I'd either stay with the stock one, keep it clean/replaced or Uni.. Uni imo would be better because if it gets clogged up bad enough the engine will just choke down from lack of air not because of dirt.Plus here's a couple of sections with people going back and forth on K&N versus Uni with one having engine damage using the K&N.http://advrider.com/index.php?thread...vs-uni.393995/ https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=...18zoDU2JHrdFCG
