AAEM Scrambler 500 Kit
#1
Hello all,
I usually hang out in the Yamaha forum, but I came over here to see what you guys were up to. I have been surprised at how fast Predators were compared to my piped/jetted Raptor. Good job. Those things should be beasts when the aftermarket puts out some stuff.
Anyway, I am getting off topic. My friend has a 2000 Scrambler 500 4wd. He is interested in getting the AAEM 500 kit. It comes with slip on pipe, porting, hi comp piston, cam, and clutch upgrade.
My real question is, does anyone out there have one of these kits? How do you like it? I am just wanting to help him decide about it.
Thanks alot for any and all replies.

I did a lot of searching on here and asked the same question a few months back. Someone did reply that they had tried the Aaen cam and it broke apart in the motor. The guy said the motor had to be replaced. On top of that, Aaen's stuff is pretty pricy. I would just stick with RCR (Ritter Cycle Racing) or HPD (High Performance Design). They can help you with all your friend's performance needs. I never did ask them (RCR or HPD) about porting, nor is it in their catalogs, but I'm sure they had to have done it before. If you want a piston, Weisco has a high comp. piston that is less $$$ than Aaen.
