Make sure your connections are tight and clean at the solenoid, which is located next to the battery. The starter wires are located underneath the motor.Did you try the pull rope.

A click could be just the solenoid also. Do a test the old fashioned way and take a screwdriver and short the 2 big terminals across on the solenoid. You are just making a path directly from the battery to the starter. If it doesnt go then and all your cables are clean and tight then the starter is gone. If it turns over get a new solenoid.Bubba

i don't want to come up here and doing the smart ass,but i'm wondering why you're messing up with it? those engines are really easy to sart as any fuji motors, normally 1-2 pull and you're gone,my fuji triple in the the sled is the same, just 1 easy pull and it start right out,i mean the starter eliminator kit is a pretty good idea on those heavy quad...
mine is showing 135 psi (braked-in since a while) right now and start on first pull EVERY time,no matter if the gas tank switch is on and ignition switch too, maybe a little of choke on a colder weather and it start for sure...

As Bubba said, check your solenoid and connections first. If those are ok then pull out the starter and check the brushes. Chances are you may just be able to replace the brushes instead of replacing the entire starter. There's quite a bit of difference in the cost of brushes over replacing the entire starter. Of course if you have money to burn then replace the whole shebang.

As Scramblered mentioned you can just pull start the thing pretty easily. I used the pull start for awhile but I was afraid I'd get way back in some mud hole one day and have the rope break on me and then I'd be up that well known creek without a paddle.
