Why would you want to be louder? It would just **** off the public. In New Brunswick we just had a tragic accident involving an ATV (No helmets) so the best advice I could give is to take it easy because if the public is peeved then restrictions on any recreational activity will be supported. PS my 335 Sportsman will do 45 MPH on flat road but rarely gets over 15 MPH on trails.

Dude, you dont want it louder. That's why riding places get closed down, even private places. Noise is always their #1 concern when they close stuff down.
Louder doesnt necessarily = faster. I had my 100% stock banshee up against modded 400EXs, 440EXs, modded banshees, etc. They laughed at it when at the starting line. But they werent laughing long b/c they were left sitting there. Won by 7-10 bike lengths with the stock, quiet exhaust. They were scratching their heads in utter shock! Not BS, this really happened. I stake my life on it. One banshee even had drag pipes- it was just a loud hunk of metal! To be stealthy in a race is better because they never see you coming and are totally amazed when you pass them.

Everyone is right..loud is bad, doesn't matter where you ride, it all filters down to bad images towards quads and we lose our riding rights. Besides, on a 2 stroke such as the TB 400, if you remove the sliencer, you will actually lose power. The pipe does not have a broad chamber, therefore it requires the silencer to be on to provide back pressure. It may sound cool...but you will actually accelerate slower and have a slower top speed....it will suck. If you want to shave weight and have more sound, get an HPD pipe and a quiet silencer, or FMF quiet core silencer. Shaves lots of weight, will gain you 10hp, and has a nice throaty sound...without being obnoxious!! Just lets the competition know that they should look under the hood before throwing out the challenge!!
