Default Trailboss vs Trailblazer?

polaris69, if you have only gotten stuck once in deep water or mud- trust me- you ain't mudding!

2 strokes are lighter and have less parts, but htat in no way makes them more powerful (stock). Now, Polaris69, since you have seriously modded yours, of course you will be biased and obviously more capable than your average quad.

@ strokes CAN make more topend horsepower, but in NO way make more low end mudding, off the line, hill climbing torque unless seriously modded- and then you start losing reliabilty.

And another thing is you DONT need to replace or even rebuild the 250 every year or two. Mine is 3 years going on 4 with no rebuild and still better than stock compression. If you maintain the 250 it will last just as long.

Im not saying you cant mod the heck out of a 4 stroke but there is very little mods for the 330 and little for the 325. And in no way you can mod a 325-330 to be nearly as fast as a moded 250. You can get a 60hp race mod for the 250 that will smoke 400'2. Cant do that with a trailboss.

Mods for the 325---- pipe,silencer,clutch,filter,gears,borring,mild porting,carb
Mods for the 330-----same
mods for the 250,----pipe,silencer,reed cage, porting, borring, flywheel shaved, head milled, clutching, gears, carb HMM what else.

All the mods for the 2 stroke make much more useable HP than a 4 stroke. Just a pipe with a 2 stroke can produce up to 8hp. There is no pipe for the Trailboss that even comes close to that HP. Both quads are great and reliable but if you want something that has the capability of actually being fast and quick then the Trailblazer wins this one. I have NOTHING against the 325-330. I have a few friends that own them and I was actually thinking of getting one for a second quad but I still like the kick a$$ 2 stroke power of the moded 250. Stock for stock they are both very close in performance. At least thats the way I see it.

For mudding, the 2-stroke gives you wheel speed you can only dream of on your 4-stroke. For draggin, the whole idea of a continuously variable transmission is that if it's clutched right when you nail the gas your motor goes immediately to it's maximum horsepower rpm and stays there while the clutches shift. Therefore, your not using bottom end torque but rather whatever torque is available at the rpm of peak horsepower. All things considered, a 2-stroke of equal displacement will always have about 60% more potential power output.

Default Trailboss vs Trailblazer?

I was going to buy the Trail Boss 330 but my dealer said i would prefer the Trail Blazer so i road them both around and he was right I thought the Blazer was a MUCH stronger bike so I bought it with no regrets

the way i see it a 2 stroke moter would be twice as strong as an equal sized 4 stroke but it is only 70 % as efficiant as a 4 stroke so in theroy a 250 2 stroke would be as powerfull as a 350 4 stroke "Do the math" plus they are higher reving

but really apples are being compared to oranges here one is a small utility while the other is a small sport quad so it would really depend on what your going to use it for . Light duty work and some mud and hills get the Trail Boss riding trails and jumping get the trail Blazer...
